Nothing too remarkable unfortunately. But.. Mum springing into my mind ...and then she calls me a few seconds later. That's happened quite a few times.

I have three stories which come to mind.

First one… after my mother passed away I was laying in bed and looked over and saw her standing there smiling at me. She was wearing a bright white dress and she looked very young. Like teenager/early 20s young (she was 59 when she died). Clear as day she was there. But beyond the image I could actually *feel* here there. It was overwhelming and completely filled me with joy. Then she was gone. I've never been a very religious person, but she was. It felt as if she was telling me "Look, I was right... also, I'm okay." Makes me want to cry just thinking about it. I'm sure there is some psychological explanation for it. But it sure felt real.

Second one, this one I don't even tell in person anymore because I realize it probably makes me sound crazy or like a liar. Anyway, I was home one night watching TV with my then wife. All of a sudden it sounded like a helicopter flying overhead. But it got louder and louder and then sounded as if it was just hovering right over our roof. It was reverberating loudly enough that things on the mantle began to shake. It's hard to explain but I felt frozen (possibly just some kind of WTF shock) The noise/vibration just continued and finally I was able to get out of my chair. No lie, as soon as grabbed the doorknob and turned it the noise completely stopped. Not faded away but stopped on a dime. I walked on my front porch and just as I got outside I saw the tail end of some kind of craft drifting away over the treeline. It looked triangular in shape and had blue-ish lights on the points. It seemed to be more floating than flying. And it was doing so completely silently. Draw you own conclusions. I have wondered if it was some kind of experimental aircraft. But even so, why was it hovering right over our house? Why did it seem to know when I was opening the front door to look? Oh, one last bit of weirdness with this one. The next morning I talked to two of my neighbors and asked if they had heard anything weird the night before. Helicopter flying low, etc. Both said they had not. The noise was SO loud at my house I find it impossible to believe neighbors could not have heard it. Also one of these neighbors had two little yappy dogs who literally bark at everything.

Third one, the house I currently live in I feel has some spirits living there. I won't say "haunted" because it doesn't feel malicious, but weird stuff happens. Particularly with doors. It's literally a 200 year old farmhouse with a pretty storied history. Anyway, one of the rooms I have designated my music room. I go in there in the evenings and play. It's sort of detached from the rest of the house. And it only locks from outside with a master key or from the inside. Anyway, quite often I'm playing in there and when I go to leave I find that I have been locked in the room. There's no way anyone is locking it with the key because I always have it on me. And I'm certainly not locking myself in from the inside. Aside from that there are other rooms that I know for certain were locked with the master key. And they will randomly be unlocked and swung wide open. Again I'm the only one who has this key.

Maybe there's rational explanations for all these things. But I firmly believe there's a lot about this world we don't quite understand.

I'm neither superstitious nor really religious. I have no desire to believe in ghosts or anything like that.

I've lived in the same house since '98. On more than one occasion, out of the corner of my eye, I've briefly seen a boy wearing a shirt with horizontal stripes on it. I've seen him outside of the house, and inside of the house. He's only visible for a split second, and then is gone.

I never had any intention of telling anyone what I thought I saw, until my wife told me that the same thing had happened to her. She gave the same exact description of a shirt with horizontal stripes, before I had said anything that might influence what she thought she saw.

Since then, we've briefly seen this boy a few other times. I'd say that we've probably both seen him about six times or so, in the past 25 years.

I think my wife and I have told just a handful of people about this, over the years. We're both highly educated and have no idea what to make of it. Is it possible for two different people to imagine seeing the same thing (person), repeatedly?

Honestly, I don't even really like talking about it, because I always have to think that it's just my imagination. I just don't want to believe that ghosts exist, personally. There has to be some other explanation.

Ghost stories,of sort.
A duplex next door to where we lived became available due to the resident,Bill, dying.
Bill was a heavy smoker. He kept his smokes in a bottom drawer of his dresser which was at the foot of his bed.
After we moved in I was walking down the hallway and I stopped. Bill was sitting on his bed lighting a cig. We he stood up he turned looking at me. He waved then disappeared.
My dad saw Bill sitting in the rocking chair that was in the same spot Bill's rocking chair had been. He also saw Bill's German Shepherd.
Another one>
My family and I bought a house so we sold ours, moving our stuff out. Unfortunately our new house that was promised it would be ready wasn't.
We find a for short term rental house. Next door was the owner and her husband.
After being in the house for two weeks I'm going to the bathroom then I see him-an old man bent over the sink washing his face. Khaki pants, red plaid shirt. He waved then disappeared. Found out it was the owner's dad. He and his wife had the house built in 1964.
I was told other tenants had seen him. Said I guess I should have told you about him.
Then we start hearing the mom.
Walking around, smelling cigarette smoke. Sometimes behind one of us,sometimes having smoke blown in our faces.
My youngest daughter was going to her bedroom when she got shoved from behind. She blamed her sister. Sister was sitting in the living room.
The cig smoke sometimes got thick. At 4:30 one morning while I was getting ready for work I'd had enough. I yelled out "If you're going to smoke go outside!" Then I heard "Okay I will!" Stomping to the back door, then the door slams.
>>>We have ghosts in the house we have now. I've seen young children dressed like late 1800s-early 1900s kids dressed.
The boy looks to be around 7,the girl maybe 5. He likes to play hide-and-seek with me.

Unless you are the one (or ones) in on the trick to using them.. then it is just cruel fun.

You're ignoring literally thousands of claims that there doesn't always have to "one (or ones) in on the trick" to have the board respond. IF even one of those claims have any validity, I'm out.

I've had "door stuff" happen to me years ago too

I think there are "spooky" things that can probably be explained by science but are still shrouded in mystery, especially when it comes to things attributed to ESP.

This isn't your usual paranormal but I think it's something?

In 1977 I was in grade eight in Ottawa, the Nation's capital. There were kids in my class whose Fathers were policy makers for the government. They were very excited about "Free Trade", a trilateral pact that was being assembled. Canada and America and Mexico were going to merge economies to mutual benefit.

One kid said it was giving away three economies! Then he explained that protection removal would lead to outsourcing overseas. China would embrace this opportunity and seize manufacturing by controlling wages. He said it would lead to decontenting manufactured products and that they would gradually become more and more cheaply made.

Canada wouldn't stand for this, somebody objected.

Canada will just sell them the coal they'll need to power the growth, he replied. Then he explained that this would accelerate climate change.

Then he said the three governments would try to hide this disaster by printing money. The collapse will be catastrophic, everybody will be wiped out financially and people will starve.

I think about that talk he gave sometimes.

The same kid explained to a guest speaker that "Mankind" was actually evolved for beauty. We became weaker because primitive males evolved with female characteristics We became smarter because females are smarter.

He moved away and I heard, years later that he'd joined a motorcycle club.

Even more fun than tricking your mates, is making the claims of paranormal to anyone naive enough to believe you :)

a paranormal thing i have noticed, is that the phone / door bell always ring when i am in the tub or on the can. There must be some kind of explanation, but i don't have any.
Lol! We call that Sod Law here, its the same as when i go shopping i think i have purchased the item at the cheapest price and then it is cheaper in the very next store i visit.

Maybe he wants you to mod one of his pedals, for haunting mids!

I've never seen anything like that. Spooky.

I have experienced "familiar smells" sometimes out of nowhere, that remind me of people who have passed. Faint smell of cigs or soap. Never with a witness/corroborator. Makes me think it's in my head.

The historic LA Koreatown building that houses my studio (and where I used to live) has a ghost. She's been seen by many residents over the years (myself among them). She lives in a particular apartment on the third floor; everyone who is lucky (?) enough to have a brush with her sees the same thing; has the same thing happen (legs lifted off the bed). She isn't sinister - looks like Grace Kelly but with short black hair, always wearing the same flowing white nightdress.
But rather than write about my experience - how I came to see her - I want to offer something else to this interesting thread.
A number of years ago I was trying to quit playing professionally and do some writing/editing jobs (good luck with quitting music: it lasted about a year...). I had been on the road for a solid year, my life was falling apart, I needed a change. So I moved to LA to do a screenwriting job, got an apartment in the building in question, and started doing some book editing.
One book I edited was by a fascinating scholar named Dr. Bruce Lipton, a noted organic chemist/biologist. His book was about cell expression, but underlying it's very logical premise was this:
All of the physical sciences need to be re-evaluated in light of the discovery of quantum mechanics.
As physics is the foundational science, and quantum indeterminacy shows a fundamental well, indeterminacy, in its foundation, all bets are off in what we think we know.
(I'm probably not doing this best job of explaining this... I edited for language and punctuation, not content: I'm not that smart:))
Even though there was nothing in the book about this - it's a detailed look into the structure of the cell, and why attitudes can put cells into either growth or defense mode, causing, for instance, cancer to express - I extrapolate to provide a fine rationale for everything conventional wisdom likes to discount, from acupuncture to ESP. And the spiritual definitely falls into this quantum crack, as it were.
In essence, we know a lot less than we think we do.
And, to (mis)quote Voltaire writing about reincarnation, "after all, it's no more amazing to be born twice, than once..."

When landline phones were common, I picked up the handset several times to call someone, heard no dial tone and fond that the person I had intended to call was on the line. That was weird.

Aside from that, I would really like to know where my tools and parts go when I need them. I know where they're supposed to be, but they're not there. If it's a lower priced item, I'll go out and buy a replacement and when I return, whatever I needed is exactly where it should have been. I waste a lot of gas buying replacements and then, returning them.

A couple of years back I had a dream in which an old friend's older brother played a prominent role. The younger brother was my friend when we were teenagers, and I had dated their sister's best friend, but the older brother meant nothing to me. He had moved out of the house before his brother and I had become friends, and I met him less than five times. I also hadn't had any contact with the younger brother or sister for about 20 years when I had this dream. Anyway, I had the dream and just thought it was weird that someone who meant nothing to me should figure so prominently in my dream. When on Facebook a couple of days later I found out from mutual friends that he had died from natural causes in his 50s on the night that I had the dream.

When in grad school i had a roommate who now lives in Australia. She had a dog that I adored. I knew the dog from the day she brought it home as an eight week old puppy, but hadn't thought about in a couple of years. About two years ago I had a very vivid dream about that dog, and when I hit the computer the next morning there was an email from her letting me know that Bailey had died.

I am a raving atheist and do not believe in any deity at all except for Chuck Berry and the gods of rock, but those two dreams really had me questioning whether there is something bigger. Not a deity, but some sort of interconnectedness or something.

I took a week off work during Easter 1996 to finish off insulating an addition to our home. My wife had taken our three young boys shopping and I was alone upstairs. There were two sliding mirrored closet doors propped up against some studs, and in my peripheral vision I could see a little boy sneaking up behind me giggling. I waited a few seconds to allow him to play his prank, but by the time I remembered I was home alone and turned around there was no one there. My mind playing tricks, but I did feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I’ve never experienced ghosts or spirits personally, but I worked in a trauma center for 30 years. Been in the room many times when a person is dying and actively looking at and talking to someone who is not in the room. My mother in law did the same thing. Logically I figured the dying brain is hallucinating, neurons firing like crazy. I’m certain of it, but I guess I could be wrong.
At my old work it was an old industrial area and for several years when I was there we heard children playing in the back behind the shop. None were ever there. The area is a fenced pit about 10 feet deep and after several years someone came to the company and asked if we ever heard anything. He grew up in the area and remembered a young boy that had drowned in the pit in the late fifties.
