Actually, how many families actually have dinner together nowadays?

Ah yes. Button A or Button B. And a Bakelite handset that weighed a Ton!

Is that Doctor Who dropping in to save Sheffield?

(I have a '53 Morris Minor and '62 Morris Major whose color schemes would fit right in to the b/w photo);)

The only button on the public phone was to get your coin back. The home phones had buttons to hang up, but they were like a fork on the public ones.

Aye and boy did I get a wallop when I pressed button B while Mum was talking to my Aunt and lost my Mum's 4d...

You put 4d (four big old pennies) in the phone and dialled the number, if you got through, you pressed button A, to get your money back you pressed button B

Don't remember button A, I think it was only on UK phones. (actually from a search, they did have two buttons in other places, I didn't remember)

Never went past a phone box without giving button B a press. Doing that paid for a few sixpeneth of chips. Noticed the two A35 vans passing the stationary bus, my dad had an A35 and stationary buses were the only thing it would overtake.

I recently read that divorce rates in the US have trending down in the last 25 years or so although their are more people over 50 who are getting divorced (maybe lthe kids are gone so screw you”).

I can only judge by my daughter’s situation. They make a point to have several family dinners during the week but often they let the kids eat in the play room. Actually I can recall eating some meals while watching TV as well (and I grew up in the 50s and 60s.)

As much as we like to think things change, they stay the same. My daughter grew up with Gameboys, her kids have iPads.
