Same here. Same thing happens when you order a one off purchase on line. To get past checkout you have to open an account. Once you do, bam! endless emails attempting to sell you something. Sent a cheque to a charity, just my modest lottery winnings that I thought might help. Cheque in an addressed envelope, nothing more. It can’t have been a coincidence that my inbox, within days, started to fill up with begging letters from the and other charities. When I want information about my own accounts from my bank I have to jump through security hops. Seemingly, a charity can get all they need to pester me from a cheque?

Here's a thought for you to ponder. There are over one million six hundred thousand registered charities in the U.S. alone. Just think if you just sent them all ten bucks apiece, you'd be talking serious money!

Hey TD,

Maybe it's too late for you but we belong to a Credit Union and use their "bill pay" system. The have a tab on their website where we have our monthly bills set up and we just have to assign how much to pay each account. It's pretty slick and the payments come out of our checking or savings accounts. Sure beats buying and writing checks.
I would think that most banks must offer this service also.

Good luck in "figuring" this out
