There were so many great rock bands in the 60's and 70's and Stephenwolf was one of them

and they sometimes are forgotten in conversation. This is a great documentary of a band the was a precursor of metal in a lot of ways.

Steppenwolf, my first album 1969 (self titled - Born to be Wild), and my first rock concert, 1970, in the old Cherry Hill Arena ice rink.

I still own my original "Steppenwolf Live" LP, complete with the out of tune bass guitar on the opening of "Magic Carpet Ride". My bassist at the time, would not allow that album to be played in his presence, because of that. The rest of the works are gold.

    Great Performer, great band.

    Lawdy Mama, Sookie sookie, more.

My brother would lean the organ pver
on born to be wild on the outro..and hit
the floor, while I would be doing a sweep
on that last 9th or whatever that was

    Always liked them., him.

Long vid, I will have to look another time.

I've got several albums on vinyl.
They were so much more than Born to be Wild and Magic Carpet Ride.

I'd kick him in the balls and shoot him if he runs. My interpretation of the Pusher lyrics as a kid. I thought that was hysterical.

Yeah, I like the Pusher, it wasn't the message, but how dark it was. I mean I was a full blown Beatles kid. This was dark and nasty and I liked hearing it when I was 14 years old.

I like a homogeneous crowd. I was going to change it, but it brings more fans into the thread. I mean, there are anal grammar nazis who like Stevenwolf too? Right?

Steppenwolf Live lived on our turntable, literally till there was grooves so deep it wouldn't play anymore! Kept the album cover hung on the wall, till somebody liked it better,,,

Still one of my favorites. The first and second albums are partied out. Monster is in good shape and played sparingly. I have a hits CD and the Second on CD. They sound happy. Would like to hear something from them. I understand Kay still tours.

My wife just retired from teaching painting and drawing. When she was a kid, she attended a concert with Steppenwolf and stood to the side of the stage. She tells me that she intently studied what she saw, paying attention to every detail, etc. Then she went home and drew it on paper. Luckily, it survives. As a musician, I was really impressed with the hand and wrist positions of the guitarist and others.
