So, the way this works is, the hi tech Mercedes speeds along until it sees an object in its path...and then it stops about as fast as a car possibly can.

And the guy in the Skoda who is following, smashes full force into the BACK of the Mercedes.

They have solved............nothing.

And they should be honest about it.

While Germany gave level 3 approval for a Daimler model, all the 2022 fleet for most all makers have AEB.

My understanding Skoda brands what is same VAG technology in all their cars. The probably 20-25 VAG vehicles on MQB platform will perform much the same when their weight, brakes and tires are similar. You just have to be careful to not offend the Audi owner who paid so much more for the same core stuff the Skoda and VW drivers have.

The only thing not solved is an old issue before this technology. Cars with stickier tires and more effective brakes have always been more prone to getting hit from behind if they also have a more effective driver.

The almost entirety of the whole industry adopting AEB this year is in a way an all time great for honesty because it's not responding to a government regulation. It will change the game for attorneys in some cases. For example, Subaru gets 90 seconds of video if something I did in our Outback brought them into court.
