Can't play any Nickelback on that guitar - so it's got that going for it.

    ;)

I've seen a few map guitars but they were always natural finish. That's a neat one.

No "only ship to the lower 48" with that model.

It's going to be out of date when/if Greenland is purchased though.

They pop up occasionally. They’re s-l-o-w to sell.

^^^ Alaska and Hawaii don't seem to be accounted for either so I wouldn't worry much about Puerto Rico or Greenland just yet.

I remember the ads in the guitar magazines with the natural finished ones back when I was a kid. I always sort of liked those in an odd way.

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean that you should do it.

Sometimes you've got to wonder how some products made it from an idea and then all the way to production.

Well, I am not selling The Map so that's the good news... LOL
Actually, it plays well, it has a Gibson neck and it has a typical Gibson HB sound.. Yup!

If I'm remembering correctly the natural finish ones were originally made for the ad photo shoots and to be dealer display items - to hang on the wall behind a counter to remind people that Gibsons were made in the USA; hell Gibson might have just given them to dealers who did a certain level of sales annually. Then I'm sure some people started asking the dealers if they could buy them, so Gibson put them into production with all the striped finishes.

I don't particularly like the map guitar, it looks odd and uncomfortable to play. Which is bizarre coming from me, because I have two Modernes.
