I started watching it tonight... oh man... it is something...
Is this a show about guys who collect watches?
Just saw it. Very good and of course ' apocalyptically scary'
Regina King is a bad ass ( was an HBO, The Leftovers fan)
However, I can't help but thinking the timing of this series is too close to what's happening in the real US and the world.
But it was entertaining, thoughtful and I will watch
Dang, I have a feeling that I am finally missing something good by not having TV/cable/Netflix.
Oh well, it is only once every few decades that I get this feeling.
Just turning it on now (after everyone has sucked the initial bandwidth out of the 9 p.m. start).
the wiki page was helpful. we dug regina king and donny... well, he is always cool (since a boy and his dog)
The question is who watches the watchmen watchers watching watchmen?
this is a cash grab and i'm not going to watch it.
Sorry wrong thread. Mistook this for the Official WATCHMEN watchers watching WATCHMEN thread.
Did a really nice job for a comic book store owner. He tried to get me into Watchmen. Gave me the graphic novel and something else.
Laughed when I wanted to get paid. Said he’d pay me when he wanted . Years later his wife offered me a check. I ripped it up.
I won’t be a watcher of Watchmen
I need more info please.
Is this a Netflix show?
I remember a movie from some years back with a group of antiheroes doing stuff.
Same premise in a series?
I don't understand this at all-
-You were offered belated payment for work you'd done, but refused it? That'll show them, I guess.
-You won't watch a TV show because a guy that stiffed you liked the book it's based on?
No, wait- I do understand this. I won't buy guitar parts from a popular supplier because a guy that worked there 25 years ago ran off with my girlfriend. Same thing, I guess.
It's on HBO
Did you remind the comic book store owner that people can get hurt operating a business like that. I mean, comic books are made of paper and paper is flammable. Safety first.
I canceled HBO after GOT but this got me to thinking. I was fair to middling concerning the movie that was put out. Is this a new creative team?
Should I watch considering I don't know the graphic novel lore?
oh - I did forget some salient points - I apologize :
My non-payment (for building a huge display rack to his spec) was years in the past when his wife found it an auspicious time of their convenience to offer me money.
I had long ago written it off as a loss tax-wise, and would have felt bad accepting it because I am a beacon of respectability and law-and-orderliness (word ?)
Comic book culture doesn’t excite me, and , Watchmen was promoted to me as one of the finest ever in that genre and I did not find it so.
plus, I watch too much tv already
lastly, as someone else said , even if dystopia hadn’t already been done to death in the last 15 years, it doesn’t seem so sexy these days.
didn’t have to bother. He went outta business/store failed.
all’s swell that ends swell.
I tried to cancel HBO, but the direct people told me I get it for free for life... which is kind of like free sex with someone you only moderately like... sometimes it is fun, but mostly it is like a sentence.
Tbis thread is going way better than I could have hoped!
