Ok. Seems like we're now being a bit harsh on the OP. Maybe s/he is very into visual art as well as functional art. Maybe it was hyperbole in play. A nice warning to those who might not realize there is no internal sheath to protect the pedal surface.

    Nice warning or DEVASTATING EXPOSE?

Somehow, the entire concept of "protect the pedal surface" seems like musician's satire.

We collectively laugh at those who pay extra for dings and dents, but also laugh at those who try to avoid dings and dents.

Otherwise we end up noticing how we're falling apart from old age, noticing our own dings and dents.
So every chance we get we laugh and laugh and laugh at anything that strikes us as funnier than gettin' old.

I don't know who that is a picture of, but is there a gofundme to buy him some shoes?

I have never stepped on a pedal barefoot... I'm never barefoot.

I grew up in west Texas. If it crawls it's venomous, if it grows it'll stab you. The pavement is literally hot enough to cook on some days. The things that crawl have no boundaries. They come right in the house.

I learned very young, you just don't go barefoot.

Wait, are you saying people are actually using these things to step on their pedals with bare feet? I thought it was just a silly name.

Maybe I should make Workboot Buttons, with a bunch of sharp spikes to keep people from stepping on your pedals with bare feet.

What? No pedal relic'ing allowed here? Then why are they called "stomp" boxes (wink)?

To be fair to the OP, this is what happens. Definitely something you'd want to disclose to head off any complaints later. (M.I. Audio Super Crunch Box; sold on Reverb within 2 hours.)

Today I learned people are concerned with scratches on something you step on to activate.

Walking on the earth barefoot is actually good for your health. It grounds you to our globe, which is good for the human electrical system.

I just watched a whole documentary on this.
