Staccato is the name of the game

I got the hang of that (and some stamina as well) from

Once I dumped the pick and embraced the 2-3 finger pick, speed and accuracy almost doubled overnight.

The pick is not a problem for me as I’m pretty much incapable of playing with one. Been a fingers guy since day one.

Anything by Jamerson. There are the notes...then there is the feel.

I've recently been working on Gimme Three Steps. It is not the toughest line ever, but it has been more of a challenge than one might anticipate. Lots of chunka chunka with a bunch of licks played with the guitars. (Oh, there's another one).
Renewed respect.

Been some really great replies. I am learning a couple that have given me a bit of a surprise.
Stranglehold has a solo in some live versions. I suppose I easily put eight or ten hours into unraveling that solo. I feel I got it tabbed 100%, but is that ever a thing?
Also… shocker; singing and playing Gene’s Rock and Roll All Nite. What a crazy line… cool!
