    Great article.

Tom does a great job picking 'em! His music demands an angular and jagged guitar sound to make it work.

    Thanks!

Good article, but that’s gotta be one of the strangest URLs I’ve ever seen for a guitar website...

Thanks for posting this. I vaguely remember hearing TW in the 80's and loving how different his music was to most of what was around at that time but I never looked any deeper. A couple of years ago my teenage son woke me up to TW and it was as if a door had opened to another world.

So many dismiss him as being that bloke with a strange voice and fail to see the masterful songwriting and musicianship from him and those who have contributed to his work over the years. Genius is an over-used word but can be safely applied to TW.

Saw him on Letterman playing The Piano's Been Drinkin'" - hilarious. Waits looked drunk himself .

Feel privileged to have seen Tom 10 or so years ago. His son was on drums and was great.

For whatever reason , he had Duke Robillard on guitar. Duke was fine but would have much preferred Marc Ribot obviously or even Smoky Hormel.

I missed out on that show. And I agree.
Love the people who have played with Tom.

David Hidalgo would have been great to see with him.

Amazing songwriter. It's hard to slot him into any genre... seems more jazz than anything else. There are almost a dozen quotes of his that I borrow when the occasion arises.

Good article, but Joe Gore should have been included.
