Remember kids...don't try this at home!
You mean the six stooges?
I never cared for him...
In kindergarten I did the "pick two" routine on one of my classmates, and was truly surprised when the kid started bawling.
To make matters worse, a year later that same kid got some kind of brain affliction. There was a picture of him in the local newspaper in a hospital bed with his head shaved and electrodes all over his scalp. I thought I had caused it.
“I resemble that remark!” He was my favorite too.
No. I think he was the one that didn’t want to do it and they really had to pressure him to join and he finally caved in. He wanted to be his own personality and they demanded that he be a “Curly”. Then they had to get him to shave his head. Nothing like the original Curly.p though.
This was my favorite episode. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard as I did the first time I saw this.
BACK TO THE WOODS
(Episode 24): Set in colonial times, the stooges are convicted criminals who are banished from England to the American colonies. When they arrive, they find that the colonists are starving because the local Indians won't let them on their hunting grounds.
Which Joe? There were two. Joe Besser and "Curly" Joe DeRita.
Many think both sucked...
Actually three, if you count Joseph Horowitz. They just didn't call him Joe.
We used to rush home from school to catch the Stooges at 3:30 on Chnl 48. It doesn't get much better than the Stooges, and I remember Sally Star, my brother and sister were on it, in the peanut gallery.
Yeah...Joe sucked. Both of them.
I was thinking Joe Besser.
I know of a Samuel Horowitz, a Moses Horowitz, and a Jerome Horowitz, who was Joseph?
yep...watch that after school if i wasnt out playing
shemp went into straight acting after he left..you can see him in some films...and you say...its shemp!
i liked them all...but curly and shemp were better
nice! those were the days!
remember gene london
wee willie webber
Gratuitous violence makes me laugh ... Love the Stooges and Tarantino ...
You got me. I believe you are correct and my memory failed me once again. Dang!!!
The funny thing is I googled Joseph Horowitz and Curly's photo came up (with a bunch of others).
Moe, Shemp, and Curly Howard were born "Horwitz" no second "o".
Yeah - it was the Stooges, get changed, and then tackle in the street up the corner. No pads. The goals were tele-pole to tele-pole. Lots of road rash. We reasoned the tar street up the corner was softer than the concrete out front. We were an advanced civilization.
