I still love the Stooges. They were funny without resorting to foul language that is so often passed off as comedy today. I love slapstick and sight gags. One of the funniest thing is the Marx brothers mirror routine, I forget which movie.

The Three Stooges made 190 short films. Back in the 80s my friend Kevin and I set out to record every one on VHS. We ended up with over 180. Good times.

Entertained me as a kid! Great stuff. Only a few years away from when vaudeville ended. They picked up the slack!

Larry, Moe and Curly Joe....the best, and anyone else is a temporary stand-in. Just my opinion.

Watched the 3 Stooges in the 50s after school instead of doing homework. Curly was the best. Local Philadelphia show "Popeye Theater" with host Sally Starr.

Yep, and my parents just didn’t share in the hilarity.

I think you mean Curly (Howard), one of the original Stooges. Curly-Joe was one of the later replacements after Curly Howard died. Agree, the originals were the best. I never liked Shemp.

I liked Curly Howard best, and then Shemp. Shemp was awesome. Even his name!

I love the 3 Stooges, watched them as a kid, and even to this day they are still insanely funny. Way better than any modern comedy routines.

At what point does a stooge become a strooge? The matriculation of a strooge...

Mentioning the Three Stooges (or Strooges) in the same breath as the Marx Brothers is a bit insulting. One is simple slapstick.....the other is the ultimate in comedic artistry. (and I DON'T have to tell you which is which ;) )

Actually, Shemp was the original third stooge. He quit the act when they were still working for Ted Healy, who Shemp hated, and Moe recruited Curly to take his place. He came back again after Curly had a stroke and was unable to continue.

Every time I see Mom triple slap her boys in Futurama, I think of the Stooges.

Thanks Don. Yeah, i got em mixed up. Nobody took the abuse like Curly Howard and another Curly later on just confused things. It seems every group of friends in school included one guy who could do excellent stooges imitations.
