Some of you may remember my posts last year showing off my first two "Rockmaster" (I'll never play jazz on 'em!) builds. The first was done up in butterscotch blonde, and styled on a classic '50s Tele:

The second was an all-mahogany salute to a '60s SG Special:

And now I've just finished off the third "Rockmaster": this one modeled on a '59 Tele, and finished in Dakota red:

As on the first "Rockmaster", I used a Lollar Firebird mini-humbucker in the neck position, and this one has a Pickup Wizard '60s wind single coil at the bridge. I used a modified Fender vintage plate, and some generic notched steel saddles to accommodate the B5.

The body is another masterpiece from good ol' Tommy at USACG. Alder and just a smidge over 4 lbs. Allparts TRO-Fat neck finished with a little vintage amber dye and several coats of Tru-Oil. The parchment guard is from Tony at Pickguardian.

String ferrules installed just in case I get tired of the Bigsby (not likely!). What say you: leave the control cover black or get one in parchment?

Gotoh Kluson-style tuners, and a swell headstock decal courtesy of TDPRI's own JBennet!

Really happy with the neck on this one. Besides being hugely fat, I left a fast satin finish on the Tru-Oil. It's awesome!

I guess I should really do a build thread sometime for one of these, but I never seem to remember to get the camera out during all the fun!

    Thanks for lookin'!
    Rick

    Those are way cool!

However, to me, a Rockmaster is a preamp Peavey made in the 90s. One of the coolset pieces of rack mount gear ever...

All three of those are gorgeous!
I'm an SG junior kind of guy, so that mahogany with the P-90s is looking especially fantastic.

These all look great! I love the variety of configurations you've built. Something for everyone. Nice work installing that decal too.

The 2nd one (modeled after the SG) reminds me of the Fender Toronado 2 (the one with the double P90s). All in all, they're all beautiful.

Tell me about the decal? Did you make it or have it made?
