I sure hope someone invites me to a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year. It's been a while.
    Sorry, off topic.

Sweet potato sweet potato candied yam, put ‘em on my plate as fast as you can!

    That’s my thanksgiving cheer.

Baked, butter and brown sugar FTW. Or in that casserole with marshmallows. That’s how you do it.

We do full southern traditional but we switched from turkey to homemade fried chicken. My mother was appalled but not one complaint.

    Love 'em!
I'm off all carbs at dinner and mostly only eat them any more with my wife who's a vegetarian.
So when I make Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners for us I often just don't bother with a meat dish for myself.
She keeps claiming to like my loud guitar every single day so I can skip roasting a dead bird and eat vegetables on a holiday.

Thinking now though I may try to make sweet potato lunches, or even second breakfast.
I do four rather than three meals a day and two earlier meals can have carbs, so this is a reminder to explore options!

    Delicious
    Cheap
    Easy to cook
    Portable and self contained
    Superfood
Doubles as dessert in a pinch

Onto the grocery list thanks @imwjl !

One of the tunes that made me want to play the guitar back in 1968

    OK, back to cookery.

    :)

PS It may not be clear - the tune's called Sweet Potato, from the Sir Johnalot of Merrie England album.

    Love em!

I especially like sweet potato waffle fries.

Aldi's has a sweet potato casserole, that they sell around the holidays. It's only about $4 and it's crack! It might as well be a sweet potato pie.

I like them. They can be too sweet. I make an African influenced sweet potato and peanut stew that's really good. Also some sweet potato and salmon cakes

    Love 'em!
Baked with added butter and sometimes brown sugar or cinnamon
    Fries with salt
Mashed and baked with pecans on top. Don't care for raisins mixed in
Sliced in a patty size with butter and brown sugar
