I heated up the Solderiron and put this long forgotten pickup into my strat. It sounds really good.
This looks very interesting. Can you give us a bit more details?
Is that quarter pounder in the neck position?
What is the bridge pickup?
What is the story behind holes behind the bridge?
be cool if you could do a video with the bridge pickup played clean!!
The holes: telecaster pickup
The pickup is a twangbanger.
Here is a closer look:
Is that a trem Strat that you converted??
Hah! I did the exact same thing about 7 yrs ago. I put it in my 03 Squier Standard. I don't know if it's all that Tele like but it beats the pup that was in there. I actually like the neck and mid pup that came with it. They've got a lot of growl in a SRV kinda way.
It's laying next to my fully stock 2010 Am St.
I like that blue one! You need that Tele bridge to get the Tele sound.
I tried that, and was kind of disappointed. I was in the process of mounting the bridge pickup to the floor of the rout I'd modded. I need to get back and finish that project - the lacquer has got to be rock hard by now!
Got a Twangbanger in my Strat right now. The leftover Strat pickup is going in the neck slot of my #2 Tele partscaster.
Twangbanger sounds excellent.
This is a Strat that's a Telecaster.
Love OP . Only time I want a Strat s when I don’t have one ..... built one I like . U r gonna enjoy it . Nice .
I gave idea that a “go” myself.
Three Tele bridge pickups in a Strat - sounds fantastic in all positions, as you would expect! Switch wired to combine neck and bridge pickups, like a Tele middle position.
Twamgbangers do a good job. Deck the trem and pick a little closer to the bridge, and it does a great tele impersonation
No. Laurent Brondel built it this way. Look him up.
I think I want one of those !
Oh I know of him for sure!! Top notch.
I was friends with him on Facebook until I kind of stopped using it.
He's a fantastic guitarist too, isn't he?
No no no this is a strat that is a tele
