Not much to do at the moment so I've worked out how to record a video on the computer!

This is my version of the The Shadows hit - The Stranger. It's all done in one take - mistakes and all!

Fantastic. Wonderful use of the vibrato arm just like Hank. I take my hat off to you.

    Next assignment...."Midnight" ;)

Nice, and you nearly nailed Hanks' sound!

Thanks for all your comments. I wasn't sure if there would be any interest here for this 'old' music - but I love playing it!

The Strat is a MIM FSR. The hardware is all standard - I've just linked the tone control to the bridge PU to give a bit more control. I usually have it set about 7.

The sound is through a Helix floor using the Essex 30 (Vox AC30) setting with various types of delay to try and replicate the Hank sound. The Helix is run through a Bose S1 speaker that you can just see behind me on top of the Hughes & Kettner amp. The sound and video is recorded by just using the Camers & Mic built into my PC. I'm quite impressed with how it turned out.

    Thanks for your comments.

Midnight would be a good one to do. I'll see if I can find a backing track for it.

Thanks for the details on the Strat and gear used. I'm always interested in how others set up their gear and how they record.
And I agree, "Midnite" is a great song. There are backing tracks available for it online. I might even try that one myself. :)
