I'm on staycation so time 'r us. I love squirrels! I love to watch them work like raptors to sort out challenges.

My grandma’s late neighbour had an ongoing battle with squirrels. At one point I believe he electrified the bird feeder so that birds could land on it from the air OK, but a squirrel would get a shock as he reached across from the bracket (grounded) to touch the feeder (live).

I love these videos. This one is from the guy who nailed the porch pirates with a glitter bomb.

Question though, why would you want to feed birds in summer time ? They have got plenty to eat, and if it is for the view, you can get a bird bath and the birds are having fun too.

I really enjoyed those 2 videos. Thanks for posting. I like the squirrel cafe idea.

It is also fun to notice the birds selecting their seeds, i don't know if it is a matter of taste, or a matter of their beaks not being adapted to eat some seeds.

We have a bird feeder that is on a pole and those pesky squirrels would empty it in one day. So I put Vaseline on the pole. Greased it up real good. I highly recommend it. Very good entertainment. It’s kind of like watching someone trying to go up the down escalator.

Squirrels are smarter than you. Just accept it and make peace with it. My Dad fought a lifelong bird feeder battle with the critters.

    Give your dad some credit.

They probably had a significant numerical advantage and unlimited time, relatively speaking.

Country squirrels will run from you because they don't want to end up in a pot of stew.

Around here , squirrels hopefully end up suffering from acute lead poisoning , .22 caliber lead poison . There are more bullets than squirrels .

I saved the springs from our old trampoline in hopes of someday making a squirrel catapult.
    Look that up on YouTube.
