I'm thinking that they printed a bunch more than 1000.. and that Wheeler only signed a 1000..just guessing, and Sweetwater somehow located or just happenstanced across these in their warehouse..I think I saw someone post a low number around 270.. mine arrived yesterday with a #290..and Telefunk's above was #389 so that's in the neighborhood of around 120-130 or so copies..we got lucky on this find!!

Mine is a first edition , it came with sleeve years ago, not signed and there’s no way it was published in 2017. Maybe 2007

Yup. 2007. List price was $60. $75 Canuck. Yikes. No slip cover. The binding on mine is crapping out, and I’m not particularly hard on my books. Nice book though.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Just got an email from Sweetwater that they were refunding my money because they were out of stock and Fender was not going to be sending any more.

I just got my copy from Sweetwater this afternoon. I already devalued it by slitting the plastic wrap. It is #307 and says first edition twice on the third page.
I didn't know to look for candy...

Hey Scott - thanks again for alerting your bros here on TDPRI about this awesome deal. If it wasn't for you we would not be proud owners of Fender : The Soul of Tone at such a discounted price.

#391 is in the house!!! My salesman also called to thank me for my order. I may have one of the last copies they had. I tipped him off that it was more than likely due to this thread. He concurred after taking a look at all the orders that had come in to Sweetwater over the last few days.

#327 arrived yesterday. All shrink-wrapped and boxed. Almost considered leaving it wrapped for possible future collectible value purposes. But then I remembered Spongebob and Patrick and that shrink-wrapped Mermaid Man/Barnacle Boy bubble-blower collective toy episode and the lessons learned and opened it. Got the CDs too.

And some candy! Banana Laffy Taffy and Bit-o-honey FTW!

I wonder what the print run would have been. My guess, based on absolutely nothing, would be in the 5-10,000 range and probably on the low end of that.

What do you think. That sound reasonable? Overly optimistic? Low?

I wonder if there’s any way to find out.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

There’s a lot of cool stuff in there though they could have been way more brief on some of the later runs of amps.

I know they want to be thorough and give some designers their due but those Stage 100 DSP amps ? C’mon, why even mention them ?
