Hmm. Maybe Sweetwater also has The Blackguard Book for $25...?

Have this. It's great. Tons of awesome pics.
I'm looking to get Billy Gibbons Rock and Roll Gearhead. It's like $80 new on Amazon, I'm not paying that price.
By the way, great post. Maybe we need a standing list of recommended guitar gear and music related hard cover books?
Here's two more that I have and highly recommend:
you can definitely see some very sexy big box twins in the stones gear book, including one in brown tolex.
Funds are tight but at that price...I guess you could say I had an episode of BAS. haha!
Gotta have something to complement "The Blackguard Book".
No joke I got my copy of the BG Rock N Roll Gear Head at a discount book store brand new for 6 bucks.
It has some sweet pics !
I got Hunter's book for Christmas. Overall, I really like it. Great photos, especially. But...
...the poor editing and proofreading kinda bother me in spots. Last night I was reading the section on Andy Summers and it said he was in the Police with Stewart Copeland and Stewart "Sting" Sumner. How hard would it have been to just have someone knowledgeable read the entire book once through before going to print?
I just looked on Amazon...it's only $25 (paperback).
I don't know...were there two versions printed?
p.s. Just checked and the Sweetwater copies do have the two CDs with them.
I have that book too! ( I got mine in early '80's maybe?)
Along with Guitar Player mag ( I subscribed to in '80) this goes back to the simpler days, when my mind was blown at the mere concept that there would actually be entire books and magazines just about the guitar!
These first 2 items would become the genesis of my ' guitar book library' ( really just a commercial-size bookcase, but I packed it in!) , over the next 25-30 years.
A fellow guitar buddy and I went crazy buiyng guitar books, and guitars!
I'm looking for the hardcover. It's $60 + shipping on Amazon.ca for a used one.
Ouch. If it's any consolation, I would by no means pay that much for it. It's good but not great.
By the way, I ordered the Fender Soul of Tone book and someone from Sweetwater called, left me a message to thank me for the ordering. Weird.
That's normal customer care for them. They will call and email both before and after you get it, send you a giant catalog periodically, and send a bag of candy with each order. And, you will have one individual assigned to you who will always handle your orders. It may seem over the top, but apparently it works...if my local store doesn't have it, they are the first (and, usually, only) people I call. It's a good company.
I did reply via email to thank them for the great customer service. But all I did was order a $25 book. Wonder what happens if I bought a Les Paul or something?
First thing I ever bought from them were some picks for around $5. I then get their catalog in the mail which is the size of a small phone book. I called my guy and said "Hey, I really appreciate the catalog, but you really shouldn't have sent it to me. At this point, y'all have spent more on me than I have on your site."
The pictures are nice. Reading it is a chore though. It's dull, poorly edited, and extremely repetitive.
absolutely correct, that's how i got mine.
yes, but it's heavy enough to make a dandy weapon.
My copy arrived yesterday from Sweetwater. Had a little sticker on the spine that said "378" on it. Thought that was a little strange. Opened the cover and was met with this on the fly page:
Wow. Very, very, very cool.
