I was on YT looking for noisy, lo-fi, garage rock, last night, and found lots of 60s songs from the Sonics. Primitive, trashy, well-executed stuff. In that search I happened upon a live gig in Seattle in 2015. After a lot of personnel changes through the years, they're in their current incarnation. They're in their 60s and 70s, but still burn the house down in the usual way. The drummer is killin' it from start to finish. The bonus was Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Mark Pickerel from Screaming Trees, and Ben Shepherd from Soundgarten, all sitting in at times. They were punk before there was a word for it and influential for a lot of bands. Here's their debut album, recorded 2-track with a single overhead mic for the drums.
