I worked in a cubicle farm for a while, with piped-in “soft rock,” and every holiday season they would play that horrible Paul McCartney Christmas song, all day. Every day. Could not have been worse.

Apologies in advance to any Boston fans, as I really loved this album when it was first released---but having recently retired from a work environment, where for the past 12 years classic rock station JackFM blared on a big nasty boombox all day long with this song played at least once an hour, without prejudice, I retired the song as well. Good luck old friend!:)

I'm sorry, but for me it's a tie between "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" and "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. And any number of his other songs.

I forgot about that song (probably repressed it), so I had to check out the video. Wow, I was all set to post I Am Woman by Helen Reddy, but after watching the Fool To Cry video, I'm seconding your vote. ;)

Stairway to Heaven. I love Zeppelin, but I don’t ever want to hear it again.
First and second runners up are Hotel California and Come on baby light my fire, respectively.

That’s what I took - great songs which I’ve heard too many times. With hallelujah it was the endless mediocre covers.

With bohemian rhapsody it was that I knew every subtlety, every note, every little bit. So it’s for me highly predictable now.

Both are objectively great songs. I just don’t need to hear them again.

I think "Kung Fu Fighting" beats all of these. But don't listen to it. It's an earworm.

Frank Zappa said that the basic building block of the universe is stupidity. This song is the pure stuff.

But you didn’t mention your despised song, although I haven’t read the whole thread.
