That brings back memories. My first wife was a huge Billy Joel fan. I moved out of our apartment. Then, one day, it dawned on me.....all of my best records are back there. Dagnamit! So, one day, while she was at work, (I still had a key), I went back and scarfed up my album collection. While I was there, I thought, I’m taking the stereo too. I left the Billy Joel albums behind, just to make a statement. About 2 weeks later, I received a letter from her attorney saying that I was barred from the property. One of the best moves I ever made!!:D

ya'll have never had a co worker who listened to KPoP, have ya?
    you cannot unhear it.
Every song is a prefabricated homage (aka ripoff) of the previous 50 songs, and each of those songs were stolen from some previous pop song at any given point in time and history. It's like somone took a couple of cans of cheese whiz and jammed them straight into your ears, and let 'em rip.

So - every KPoP song, ever, because they are all essentially the same song.

and "In The Shallows". cheesus wept.

Kiliminjwro rising like Olympus is awful enough. (Big mountain rises like a big mountain - the wheel was round like a wheel)

But I just realised it’s ambiguous as to whether it’s Olympus or Kilimanjaro rising above the Serengeti.

This is the one song and/or artist I have never even heard of (yep, even heard about Mr. Blobby)... so, as the thread's OP, I feel that deserves some kind of special recognition.

    Consider yourself specially recognized. ;)

I feel the same way about hit instrumental pop songs; remember when those used to appear every now and then?

that's nothing, I just realized that's the actual word in the song, "Olympus"

I always thought it was "rising like a leprous [omitted word?!]"

    thanks for clearing that up

Ten pages in and nobody has mentioned Old Town Road.

I’m kinda amazed, unless I missed it somewhere upthread.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Actually true. Although I suspect it will be like gangnam style or mambo no 5. Over saturation then nothing.

Plenty of bad songs I'd never want to hear again..

    BUT..

    Plenty of classics too!

I kinda remedied that a couple years ago by getting a better than average stereo system and optimizing it.

Most of those dreaded tunes came back to life with way more depth. I was sick to death of Grateful Dead "American Beauty" but rediscovered it like I'd never heard it before... which I really hadn't based on my awful stereos through the years...
