    Well.... how bout that? After all these years, people trying to figure it out, now we know I guess... Wonder if it was a solution that was merely wiped onto the wood, or was the wood soaked in the solution and then left to dry? Maybe my next Tele build I'll come up with a solution using these ingredients and test these theories ;) LOL!! :cool:

    Preservatives were found inside the wood, so would suggest soaking.

    It is interesting how smart hobbyist tend to figure these kinds of things out. History is replete with these types of stories.
