Nice looking machine. What is it?

I get the clamp (the weight over the center of the record). I am a fan of belt drives. I love a wooden plinth. That tone arm is really long but super cool. But what is that fishing pole on the back? What is its purpose?

Eva has a gorgeous voice and that turntable is a work of art. I'd like to know something about the DIY speakers. A single 8" woofer and external tweeter in a large sealed(?) cabinet.

Maybe the vertical thing is a damped port?

It's a second tonearm. Seriously. It's a thing with some audiophiles. Different cartridges, different set-ups for different styles, or genres of music.

Not sure but it looks like it's making contact. Is that an illusion? Is that a cloth or something on the edge of the platter?

Only one cartridge is making contact with the record. Notice that as the song progresses, only on moves inward. As @tarheelbob mentioned, it's simply to have a second cartridge mounted. I have spent a lot of time swapping out carts and it can be time consuming with fixed headshells.

Micro Seiki???
They were beaucoup bucks in the 1970's. I remember seeing a used one
once @ Tweeter and it was more than
what I paid for my Cherokee and Explorer put together.

Or one for stereo and one for mono.

That is another possibility.

I once set up a dedicated mono system with a turntable with a mono cartridge, one speaker and an old Pilot mono tube amp. The amp has since been converted to a 5E3 guitar amp.

Isn't the internet a wonderful thing? Where you can experience high end audio equipment through a YouTube and computer speakers?

That turntable blew me away! Never saw anything like it.

Something tells me the owner's not scratching any hip hop in it.

got one of these at christmas...got monkees 45s to play on it

Haven't seen this commercial in eons.
