Exactly. I am reminded of my first impressions of Ravi Malek in Mr. Robot; how his odd and imperfectly fascianting appearance so beautifully delivered an added, crucial element to the story.

Indeed. While I may quibble with its conventionalism, I, too, inwardly cheered just as hard as when Jimmy Chitwood drained the final shot.

I told my wife, when Beth saw that plaza full of chess players for the first time, "This series is going to end right back here," though I wasn't sure with Beth as queen or just another pawn sacrificed to the chess gods. Either could have been played well.

Yep. (To the tune of, “She’s got...) Ravi Malek’s eyes. Like a combination of Ravi Malek and Tilda Swinton.
And sometimes, quite often actually, I root for the Hoosiers and happy endings. (Good name for a song.)

I thought the last episode was terrific, resolved the show perfectly....minor spoiler alert.....I thought it was pretty cool how she almost seemed more comfortable and even liked being in Russia than America...mainly because of the wild popularity of chess in the USSR back in that time. I will reiterate...I loved the show.

To me, it almost implied that she stayed.

If she was smart (and it's fairly obvious that she was), she would have, though she did ultimately develop a supportive community of her own in the States. Nice that they left it open.

I thought the same thing when my wife sent me those pics, My wife is so awesome. I do wonder what she'd look like with red hair though...

I'd be careful about bringing a red-haired wig home and suggesting...

I have a plan. I’m gonna get one, put it on and ask my wife how it looks on me. Obviously she’ll say “stupid” and I’ll say “Well, I don’t want to waste it. Let’s see how it looks on you.”

I know what you’re thinking: “This guy is a very stable genius.”

Good show, solid 8.5... Would have been a 9.5 if Bobby Fischer was the love interest...:p
