I am a big man, but I saw twins there that went 30 stone a piece. They rode mini-bikes there. I thought I was at the circus.

My daughter has worked at the local GC (not Guitar Center for the purpose of this thread) for close to two years. I eat there every so often. I puzzle at the people at this, or any other buffet for that matter, who pile their plates so high food is falling off, then leave half of it on the table when they leave. That, my friends, is greed, pure and simple.

I like their food, but I'm not taking more than I can eat.

We have'nt been in years...when we did go I made sure my boys understood they could take what they want, but they WILL eat what they take...

The folks that let their "kids" scream and run amok just amaze me...I had to become a biker to act like that! :D

In this case, "GC" works for both "Golden Corral" and "Guitar Center".

The state of the restrooms at most Guitar Centers is a pet peeve..
You mean to tell me you have $2.5K guitars on the wall, and you can't keep TP, soap & paper towels in stock?

One of my little pleasures is tipping big ($5-$10) for breakfast at GC. Makes me feel good all day long.

Which one? I'm partial to Star of India, but haven't been to the others..

As for Golden Corral. The one here is in the same lot as WalMart, too. And it's frequented by a lot of the same people. I don't go there often, but I do like the pot roast and mashed potatoes.

Another sucker for my local Indian buffet. I think people come at a buffet one of two ways.
Approach #1: I can eat whatever I want!
Approach #2: I can eat as much as I want!

I never understood how a bunch of people who have probably never gone hungry in their lives could eat as if there might be no food for them tomorrow.

Hey, the food's good and I get to eat a lot of it! I ate at the buffet at Beau Jo's pizza last week. Average salad bar and the pizza could have been better. Tomorrow I'm trying the Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet. Life's too short for bad buffets.

Taj Mahal on Oak Street. Their dinners are better then the buffet, but I like it much better then Star. I've never had a bad meal there. And they have the best chai.

Nice to know we don't have the only bad ones in the country.

Went there for Easter...ugh..never again. Why they can't keep the place clean is beyond me.

My wife (who is Filipino) wanted to leave after a few minutes because people were staring at her.

I DO NOT like to judge people, but a family left that looked like they were straight out of the movie Deliverance. Really bad teeth, crossed eyed, mullets, flannel shirts with no sleeves, the whole shebang. Actually scared my 15 year old son.

Never will I go in there again (not because of the people, but because it just feels dirty).

I was about to say, Golden Corral in Rapid City is in the same parking lot as Wal Mart and Pirate Golf.
