Guitar effect pedal makers lurk in guitar forums to see what's hot and what's not--and what just might possibly become The Next Big Thing.

So if you have an idea for an effect pedal, describe what it does and suggest a name for it, and who knows--it just might appear in the stomp box market.

Here's one that would be a hoot:

A pedal that contains digital samples of a motorcycle engine revving, rocket launches, gunfire, and explosions. Maybe also a few Chuck Norris movie quotes. It would be called the Golan Globus.

I want a pedal that will take any crap I'm playing and make me sound great and melodical over what the band is playing. I'm thinking some kind of a pitch shifter/autotune/expression/modulation. Potentially with a switch for different styles: SRV, Guthrie, BB, to mention a few. Would be lovely under hundred bucks!;)

Speaking seriously though, I want the ehx dudes to use their DSP crew to make a pitch to MIDI+CV converter (and maybe figure out polyphonic MIDI as well?). They would probably do a decent job considering all the other phase vocoding stuff they’ve done (organ, mellotron, etc.). I imagine a chunk of the pitch extraction work is already done. And if anyone could sell it, it’d be them.

Your post gives me an idea!

I don’t know if I would want it though

    An “opposite pedal”

As in if you play sludgy death metal it will come out as blues/country or if you play blues/country through it you get something reminiscent of yngwie with simulated sweep picking and such

Shouldn't the jacks be 'Bypass' and 'Output'?

I thought about buying it...but it's too complicated for me. Too many settings. I realized I'd only use the Don Rich, Jim Campilongo, Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan settings. That's half a pedal wasted. Just can't do it.

I was going to say that I'd like for Joyo to put out an inexpensive Dumble clone. Then, for kicks, I Googled it and ... anyone ever tried one of these?

Hmm...maybe the Fulltone Kitchen Sink. A boost (switch for mid/full freq), an OCD, and an analog emulation of a tape echo all in one enclosure.

An echo unit with a high voltage tube preamp, like the front end of a champ, with a digital repeat generation programmed similarly to the belle epoch, and an effects loop in between.

A combination of my Tru-Fi Colordriver and a high gain OD 2 in 1 pedal with series and parallel switch and a blend knob.

Would eliminate two pedals from my board for more reverb pedals.
