I really wish I had seen J.J. Cale, Tony Joe White, The Byrds etc.
And there are some "more current" acts I would like to see like Kenny Vaughan,Caleb Klauder, Rachel Harrington, Blackberry Smoke, Joel Paterson and others.

Muddy Waters. He and Eric Clapton did the Fathers & Sons tour when I was 15. They came to St. Paul, but for some reason I didn't go.

Another big regret is Prince. I know plenty of people who went to after-hours shows at Paisley Park, or were at a club when he performed unannounced--but I never saw him.
Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon did a tour in the late-'70s or early-'80s with the stage looking like the porch of a cabin. That was great and I'm happy I could see them.

Great picks, but your math is terrible.
Godel Esher Bach then?

Well, I can think of 3 acts right off the bat:
1. Prince (like a number of folks have already mentioned)
2. The Rolling Stones from the early to mid-70's...when they were still a rock & roll band playing live, not a huge stage production.
3. Probably my biggest miss - The Sundays. This is the one band I really wanted to see, but I was either too poor or too stupid to see them.

Another thread got me thinking about musicians (I include singers) I wish I had seen but never did - either my mistake or they lived before my time. Wondering Who others missed out on. What one artist would you want to have seen most of all?
For me, at least today, it’s Charlie Parker.
Tom Petty for me.

There are way too many to list if we're including those who passed before my time. However, if we're only including those who I had a realistic opportunity to see and didn't take it...it is very easy:

Jerry Garcia - I had the change to catch the Soldier Field '95 show (his last) when I was 18 years old. We were in Milwaukee seeing Pearl Jam the night before and partied a bit too hard...woke up with a bad hangover and decided to skip the drive to Chicago. 'We'll catch them next tour' was the thinking.

Even though he was very ill and was really a shell of himself at this show...the decision to not go will forever torment me.

Very lucky to have been to the only Tom Petty show in The Netherlands in the 2000s.
I would have loved to have seen Clapton.
I missed out on seeing the Foo Fighters when I had back stage pass access to Pinkpop, but Dave broke his leg some days before and they weren't there; they were replaced as headline act by Pharell, whom I did not want to see (but endured one song).

Nowadays, I don't care for live concerts that much. Too crowded, too many drunks or otherwise intoxicated people with bad attitudes, who sing and yell and talk so loud that you don't get to experience the show that well.

I had tickets to see U2 in the Achtung Baby/Zoo TV tour at the University of Illinois football stadium but they didn't sell enough tickets to justify the transport and setup costs for their set so they cancelled the show in favor of another night at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Everybody who bought a ticket in Champaign could exchange it for the Chicago show but I didn't want to drive up to Chicago and back so I got a refund instead. In retrospect, I should have gone to the show.

I saw them on this tour - fantastic.
