Well, actually I gained most of this perspective when I was in high school in 1972. That is when a realized most people are lame. Last year reconfirmed that. I rarely pay attention to the "news" these days.

70 here. No patience anymore. The last year killed it all for me. This isn’t the way I intended to spend my retirement.

I sometimes have to remind people around me not to mistake my patience for approval.

Young people will understand and tolerate your behaviour .... which may just make you more intolerant ... which will make them more understanding.

It's OK. Shake fist at cloud.

I hear that. My profile photo was taken two years ago at 59, I look at people younger than me who look and sound like they want to be 80! Your as young as you feel, live that way too.:cool:

    The older I get ...

The least I'm perturbed by surrounding 'noises' as politics, rudeness, violence, ignorant arrogance, fake filosophy, interested friendship, etc. *
I'm still learning to ignore, but not doing bad.

... and the more I'm appreciating good manners, love (not that kind), regard, kindness.

Welfare is above any other aim.

edit: really I would be more perturbed if I listen, but I don’t.

I have become more patient as I get older. Maybe living on a rock has its benefits. I still get bothered by intolerance, rudeness, most tourists, and general stupidity

Living here has taught me that patience is not a virtue but a necessity

At 57, I am out of patience with older people telling me I am too young or just a kid. I've been to more places, served my community, & accomplished more than half of those people combined, & I am not finished yet.

I have ordered my boys to roll up a newspaper and crack me in the back of the hand if I ever examine any cranky old man symptoms. My mom is 88 years old and she has no filter whatsoever, some of the stuff that she says shocks me.

I’ve never been patient or able to suffer fools. Old age has exacerbated my impatience and tolerance.

People should avoid me as I avoid them!

the closer i approach middle age the less tolerance i have for crusty old buggers because i meet a ton people past middle age who are still open minded. i think a lot of people who were always close minded just use old age as a cover to be an asswipe.

Losing perspective is one of the saddest things I see happening to older people; the past is golden, the future's bleak and younger people haven't got a clue. That crustiness is very unappealing and leads to isolation.
At sixty I'm happy to be energetic and healthy, full of ideas for the future.
My career is still on the rise, I'm playing music better than ever and I can't wait to get a new project going.

I remember many years ago, I was leaving a fast food establishment in Nashville, TN. I had a couple of stickers on the back of my truck that expressed some controversial (at the time) political opinions. As I was walking toward it this old man in the parking lot with a walker yelled “is that your truck?” I said “yep”.

He unleashed a string of profanity at me that would have embarrassed Eddie Murphy in the 80’s, and then grabbed the large order of fries right out of his buddy’s hand and chucked ‘em at me. All I could do was laugh. I couldn’t imagine being that angry at somebody I didn’t even know, over a bumper sticker. I find these days, I can imagine it a little easier.
