OK, "Browned Eyed Girl" and Santana's "Oye Como Va" (not 1967, I know..) are the two songs that I've involuntarily heard the most in my life. I kid you not. More often than not whenever I'm in a grocery store, mall, bar and grill, or whatever public place, I'm bound to hear either of those. A couple of times even back-to-back!

I remember 1967, it's when I started playing guitar. Snoopy and the Red Baron were HOT. Strangers in the night made a comeback.

But, the one that BLEW THEM ALL AWAY, was "Hair" from the stage play Aquarius...
I started playing in 1967, too.
April 9th.
It wasn’t my birthday, it’s just the day being a whiny 9 year old paid off.
I got a $9.99 hecho en Mexico kid size guitar.
I was off!
The music on the AM radio was my “siren’s call”.
I had as many 45s as my grass cutting and pop bottle collecting would allow.

I recognize almost all those songs & played quite a few of them. I expected to see some Lovin' Spoonful on that list but I guess thats the year they cratered. pity

In 1973 Van Morrison played a concert in our high school gymnasium. None of the kids had even a clue who he was, but the scuttlebutt was that "he was Jim Morrison's brother" :):) so kids showed up, including me and my buddies. But when he did his thing, nobody could relate and it was a complete mismatch of audiences with kids walking out - whoever booked the gig was leaning too boutique for the masses. One of those memories that sticks with you.
