just to add some data to the stream ,
I bought a 10 ft. monster cable with straight plugs at least 15 years ago and it's still as good as new. I am very happy with my purchase as the cable seems indestructible

Years of experience taught me that as long as you're in tune and vaguely in time, and properly loud*. your audience don't give a toss what your guitar's made of. "Is your guitar made of gomblewood?", said no pretty girl ever.

*helps if you're able to play the bugger too
