They custom neck went south with the weather so, I tossed a bit more into the hole (neck and tuners). And will throw some more into the hole with a Plek and setup...

The Money pit started as a fully loaded 58 AVRI body I purchased off ebay back in 2013. I had a corian string block made for it to inlay where the string ferrules are, that has been replaced by a brass piece (which is smaller, there are gaps).

The stock knobs have been replaced with aged Callaham heavy knurled ones. It now has Fender OV pickups. And, the pots/switch are the originals...

The current neck is a 52 RI that I bought from #Pierce in the classifieds a while back.

I just got some Kluson vintage style tuners for it.

Going to take it in for some tlc, more pics soon...

On my way to Austin this afternoon to pick it up, I'm all giddy, my ears are flapping and I keep spitting drool through the gap in my front teeth... :)

The drive took all of the wind out of that story but, that's another thread in its self.

The guitar turned out great, the neck of questionable pedigree took the PleK well and Danny and his team did an awesome job getting the old finish off the frets (what the Plek didn't get) and polishing them to a mirror finish. I highly recommend Straight Frets in Austin...

That said, I can happily say that I am done with throwing money down that hole...
