Im selling off most of my gear atm. My 65 Super Reverb went along with a guy that my son helped pick up something else he had allready bought.
It was sold over the phone , with dust and all. Wasnt really planning on selling amps untill later , so hadnt looked at them.
Checked out some amps today , incl my SR from 74. Dusted it off , checked it for function , played it for a bit ......Put it back in the music room..........It stays , I cant sell an amp that sounds this good , dammit !!

Many of these amps were supplied with ceramic speakers

Let's not forget that they are the prefect height to not have to bend over to turn off and on and put drinks on top of :)

Had a 67 Super, loved the tone. It would get as loud as needed. I just got tired of lifting it in and out of my '78 Nova's trunk.

I dunno but CTS alnicos are darker than CTS ceramics, or should I say mine are, '73 alnicos vs '64 ceramics.

I've read the Super is the "Marshall" of the Fender blackface line, and sounds great when cranked (back in the days when you could still do that at gigs).

I've never wanted a Super really, until I became a fan of Tab Benoit, as his tone is about 75% cranked Super (and 25% clean Twin, he runs them side-by-side).

^^^Have to agree with all of the above. Four 10" speakers, big sound, fills the room!

And I would add...great tone, and to reiterate HUGE sound!

I do love my 69 SR I added a bias pot and now have balance and bias, did some other work, as it is a AA1069, and now its closer to AB763, using a GZ34 instead of 5u4

I just got my 1975 Super Reverb back from my amp tech. Everything cleaned, and recapped. Sounds great.

Silverface SR's have been my favorite amp since the late 60's. You have to work hard to get a bad tone out of a SR.

One afternoon at band practice, I broke a string and borrowed my band-mate's ES 335 and plugged it into the SR. The selector switch was centered (both pickups). I hit a G-chord and the hair on the back of my neck stood up - it was that good.

Mine was (sob) a '69 with CTS alnico speakers. I had to let it go because we were moving to a smaller residence and I was ashamed of having that glorious amp in a storage locker when it deserved to be played and loved.

My tech said I didn't need new caps, but I had him replace them anyway because I don't sell stuff that isn't in perfect working condition. I sold it for just $1300 - the market here for big amps was really soft. The buyer paid my asking price without any haggling and I never heard from him again. I guess he liked it.

I loved my Super Reverb -- quintessential tone of the gods (for me)!!
However, my back had a much different reaction to it, and alas it no longer is part of my rig...

I love my 66 Super Reverb. Great amps. Lower left next to a 66 Twin.

Just a pix of my ‘74 Super. Black face circuitry and fantastic tone. Dave Boze refreshed the electronics and it is a tone monster
