Weird song. The girl's eye in the picture is dilapidated. What does that mean?
Is that anything like dilated??
Typically, anti-cholinergic drugs (or drugs with anti-cholinergic properties) will cause dilation.
Killer bands with only one album!
Vivian Leigh's eye
An earworm’s earworm!
Greatest song ever written in my opinion. The melody is brilliant and powerful.. Blissful, adrenaline rush. Maybe the feeling of dancing with a girl you love for the first time. Amazing stuff.
It's definitely up there on the list.
Funny...is it just me, or does a song being from a band that was a one-hit-wonder seemingly give that song a little more heft/weight, in this regard? Hmmm...
Spur of the moment spontaneity is epitomized in many amazing one hit wonders... I think of the song "How Bizarre", and "Tub thumping", by Chumbawamba, and many others... Just a flash a brilliance, out as quick as it was sparked, but brilliant nonetheless.
It also has to do with having fun and camaraderie, captured in a 5 minute blissful enterprise, made by individuals who could care less about fame, but feel and express an enjoyable experience, that once captured, can be enjoyed again and again by everyone else...
It's the same reason I still sing along to "Wonderwall" by Oasis... These songs seem to capture so much joy/pain/sorrow/love/experience. Gotta love it. Music makes you realize that being human ain't half bad most of the time.
Nostalgia can also be captured with a mic and sold.
A textbook example of the greatness of a one-hit-wonder:
And there I go.....thinking this was a Six Pence None The Richer original......
McDonald and Giles.......
Whatever radio station they were playing this was in my dentist's office one day. It was very calming but I wanted to scream IT IS NOT THE LA'S!!!!!
This I did not know. Thanks Toast.
every time this show came on, I'd grab my guitar and try to play along....
I think that's where I first heard the song.... or was it the radio... not sure how long after the song release that the tv show used it..
Just a perfect song.
It's from when she's dead, with her eyes still open, in the shower in the movie Psycho.
You're welcome. Plesant dreams!
That's why her eye is dilapidated?
There was a lot of good pop in the 90’s...I loved Fastball...
I liked this version too.
I'm guessing this Maisie Raine cop did not carry a .44 Magnum?
