The Jesus Lizard is a favorite at my house
I've only dabbled in the Jesus Lizard, but when I have listened to an album it always makes me laugh how many current bands lift from both Jesus Lizard and Shellac.
Here they are covering Miles Davis (well kinda):
What a fun live band they were.
it's an entire genre of music. a ton of my favorite bands were heavily influenced by them... so I'm sure i fall in that category too.
chasing that bass tone is like a part time job of mine haha
Yeah, it has just the right amount of clang while still having a ballsy low end. And the drums always sound like the end of the world.
And chasing those weird jazz voicings Duane Denison plays is mine!
Seriously love the Jesus Lizard, I used to live in Chicago and was lucky to have seen them play live many times in their early 90s heyday.
