No Duh... I have a hard time accepting the fact that I have no GAS... I want to want stuff but, no. I am happy with one acoustic and one electric... Truth be told, I could get by with just my akustik.

Speaking of acoustics, my shoulder is much better and suddenly I have the d18 urge... :)

I posted this about two months ago. Then I visited a GC to pick up some strings. I foolishly picked up a guitar that I "had" to have.
Prior to and after that I have not been able to create an actionable interest in acquiring a new guitar, amp or pedal. That is not to say that there will not be a guitar somewhere in the future that will not garner my interest enough to lay down some cold hard cash.
I'm down to 4 electrics and two acoustics plus one bass. I could easily get down to an electric, acoustic and a bass and have what I need. In fact, at some point, perhaps soon, I will sell a couple of electrics and an acoustic. The question is which will be chosen to stay or go.

You guys didn't GAS with catalogs and books about guitars before you could go online to find out about gear?

If you think you got a problem, I don't want to want stuff.

I cannot think of a single reason not to order the Browne Protein in my cart for the last week or so.
I have a few bluesbreaker clones and have a Nobels, it’s not like I don’t know understand overdrive. The internet is controlling my thoughts.

I’m going the same thing. Picked up a cheap fender CP60 parlor guitar... I might go back for it later. I’m trying to get rid of them, and am considering a trade in just to facilitate that.

I must admit, I miss the art of GAS. The thought, anticipation, research, the shopping and the angst of throwing down some greenbacks. All made up for an andrenalin rush like no other. It is just not there anymore. All I have is just a ****load of gear I've gotta use.o_O

I never had internet GAS. I need to hold it, play it, and hear it. Internet GAS is like wanting to marry the porn star. Yeah you do but you really don’t. Besides, almost all of us here have way more than we need. I know I do. Which brings me to the real problem, SAS. Stuff Acquisition Syndrome. I’ve been having a major renovation at home. I can’t believe how much stuff I put out at the curb. I can’t believe how much more I donated. And I still have too much stuff. And my wife has even more. We were choking on it. Now it’s just hard to breathe. And we can’t even use the internet to get rid of it without risking creeps on our doorstep. And as fast as we get rid of stuff, more shows up on our porch. I got a delivery yesterday. My wife got one today. We’ve gotten so many deliveries this past week that the box I was storing broken down cartons in for Monday recycling pickup burst. Save us from ourselves. The internet can turn anyone with a working credit card into a junk collector with OCD.

I remember the days when I couldn't wait for the next Guitar Player to hit the stands, and the day the newest (free!) Carvin catalog hit my mailbox was the day I stayed in the house drooling on those slick pages like it was that, um, other magazine. For a poor kid who could barely afford strings, I felt like a street urchin pushing his face against the window of an all-you-can-eat joint.

These days I could probably get whatever I want saving up through a couple months' paychecks, but nope, I got bigger things to save up for and I'm not gonna let that devil in the door...

The source of my gas yesterday was a six-pack of Double Dog IPA and pizza.

I still have my Carvin catalogs. I lent them to the fellow at the Carvin museum site to upload.

Do they even still print catalogs?

The last one I got (other than Stewart McDonald) was a Musik Produktiv one from 2007 or 2008. It was pretty thick, about 3/4". Must have been looking through it for several years, even though I could surf online.
