As a song of my youth, this brings me joy. With Curtis Mayfield and Jerry Butler the Impressions were a powerhouse.


I had no idea. I only knew Curtis Mayfield from Superfly.

"Freddie's Dead" was on our letter-sorting crew's headphones tuned to KDIA AM 1310, Oakland CA, USA, when I was working the night shift at the big post office there.
