Hey All,

I have a early-mid 1955 Telecaster (refin) that is my main git, a real sweetheart! This is my favourite era for the Tele!

I'm always on the hunt for pics, specs, etc. from others of the era, and figured we must have some great ones here on the forum. Here are a few pics of mine, maybe you'll share your pics as well? Also, if there are any specs of note (neck size, etc.) maybe list those, too!

Cheers!

Wow, great photos, thanks for sharing! Wish I could contribute, but all I got is a Squier, and it has a black pickguard to boot. :p I like the mid-50s Tele, with the lighter butterscotch and white pickguard. Good stuff!

Had an original May 1957. Like an idiot, I let it slip thru my fingers about 15 years ago in a complicated trade. It had a very thin white finish with good grain showing thru. A big gap at the neck pocket (bugged me) and a real hard V shaped neck (played great). The pickups were microphonic and squealed at high volume. Still, a really sweet guitar. I tried to recreate the feel and look with my self-reliced MIM white body 50's Classic. Might have another go with a more authentic partscaster one of these days.

Very nice indeed! I've always liked how a white pickguard contrasted the blonde finish differently as opposed to a black pickguard.

Thanks, all! She is as sweet as she looks.

No one else with a same era Tele? I would love to see some others!

Beautiful specimen. I see it's got the "Keef" strumming wear on the upper bout. How typical is that? Does your strumming hand contact the guitar there often?

WOW

What a beauty! Looks like it is in great condition...love that transitional finish, kind of a light butterscotch.

This is a Squier Vintage Blonde Classic Vibe '50s Tele that I converted to an Esquire. The black pickguard was replaced with white and the bridge was replaced with a Wilkinson with compensated brass saddles. I like Blackguards, but I like the mid 50s Whiteguard look as well.
