The North American Truffle Growers Association has an online forum, but it's for dues paying members only.

That's what a search and 5 wasted minutes does for us.

Great humor, and photographers are closer to guitar players than are carpenters.

I'm all three of those things, but don't chat about carpentry tools online.
I do look up a tool now and then though...

On one photography forum I seldom visit (either APUG or Large format photography) my handle is meniscus.
AKA the most primitive lens in history.
    I like vintage gear!
But I gave up and went digital.
Still use my old MF lenses with my 36mp Nikon body!
    Vintage glass is great and I have both a 35 Summicron M and a 35 Summilux M!
    Ok calm down.

Actually I have some strong opinions about some of my carpentry tools too, including hand tools over 100 years old that are better than any current production crap.

Oh no I've fallen into the trap of chatting online about carpenters tools!

I suspect the answer might be a forum about forums. Which is what this thread is, when you think about it!

I'm dying to learn more about "microcontact" and rendering. Sounds totally legit.

My favourite claw hammer is one I found on the ground on a spare lot.... looks like the real estate guy hammered in the for sale sign put the hammer down to take a pic or something and left the hammer there in the grass....

and it's an ambidextrous one.. it works in either hand.... score!....

I wish I had a dollar for every nail I've driven with it...:)

My brother is an engineer. I've seen him gaze at a hammer in a state of perplexion, not knowing which end to grasp.
    I'm not making this up.

Computers...Older users will testify that their 15 year old laptops are just as fast as a brand new Surface Pro (yes, I'm running Vista and Windows 10, and yes Vista is faster on TDPR for instance) for most internet usage. Why? Because the operating systems are inefficient, and everything has to go thru an oversized, unoptimized operating system. Its NOT because it takes more pixels, or information or bandwidth to look at FB or TDPRI than anything we were looking at in 2001. The ones and zeros haven't changed, the numbers of pixels haven't changed, and the speed of electricity hasn't changed.

Consumer computers are just tools, and really even less than tools for most folks. They just display stuff - they don't actually process anything of any consequence, unlike the computers we use at work to perform massive calculations and reduce all that data. Even if you are into recording, gotta tell ya, my old Vista laptop is just as fast as the newest stuff. Just another scam that most folks have no idea is exploiting them.

I only do this forum, I've never really thought about it but it looks like I need to spread out and join a few other forums just for fun. Maybe i'll find that incense forum and join it along with knitting or a Macrame forum. I could use my same profile pic and probably blend right in. Maybe I could learn how to Macramé a few cool guitar straps or some Hendrix style pants and matching vests.:)

I probably joined 10+ forums... I seem to forget my username and password on every one of them except TDPRI.

I didn't see a set of post echoes where after a page of replies progressively getting stale, you get an fresh original reply, then 3 or 4 of the next posts say the same thing.
