I like how it looks like they are having fun

Meanwhile, my last video meeting was 20 minutes of:
    "Can anyone hear me?"
"You're frozen, did we lose you? Dana...? Hello Dana?"
"I'm hearing music, can someone mute it, please?"
    "Hello? Helllloo?"
    (dogs barking)

Love their work. AND, glad to see we are ALL aging gracefully.

The GoGos aren't fine art, but they're the real deal, tight, rock band who knows how to deliver. The singing is great and the playing is exactly what the songs need. The record company cleaned up their image for the first few records, but you can still hear bits of their punk club background, playing on both coasts. They lived the sex, drugs, and rock and roll lifestyle, and Belinda said every one in the group should be dead several times over from the lunatic things they drank, took, and did.

Gina Shock absolutely drives the band and keeps them from leaning too far into pop. She has a long punk and rock background and is on my short list of great drummers. She plays in various groups and does some production. Now 63 years old and still kills it behind the kit.

This YT is from a Central Park concert in 2001. It's an hour+ of fun.

Maple Bluff=Madison. No matter how much Maple Bluff in general would like to think differently.
(I can say this as I have a sister, a son, and an ex-wife in Maple Bluff)

Those girls were punk as ****! Most people only know their radio hits, but if you check out the rest of the library, it's damn respectable.

In the early 80s they were certainly a breath of fresh air. Although I do remember watching the notorious SNL appearance...

Was more a fan of The Bangles myself, but the Go-Go's were a solid band with some catchy tunes.

I've always loved the Go-Go's and this song but it's the first time that the guitar solo has jumped out at me as surf guitar type of solo. Why is that? What is it that she's playing that gives it that ultimate surf guitar sound?

I loved them both, but had more respect for the Go-Go’s as musicians at the time. The scuttlebutt was, that they played on their records. The Bangles did not. I’m sure there are varying amounts of truth to both statements. I’ve never really looked into it. But coming from my background, it definitely gave the Go-Go’s the edge in my world. Plus, as amazing a piece of eye candy Susanna Hoffs was for a teenaged boy in the 80’s, I always found Belinda far more crush worthy. I think I’d probably still turn into a pile of mush if I found myself face to face with her.
