That's interesting. I have never had strings go dead quickly except DR. Now I want to try them again! HAHA

I like the Strandberg, especial when Tobin Abasi is playing one

    what negative metal stereotypes?

doesn't slayer mostly play super strats and flying vs? i don't think i've ever seen a picture of them playing an sg. i don't really associate sgs with thrash.

i'm in a goth band and i also play a lot of old time and old country music. i own a small pile of modulation pedals. chorus/flanger on a country song makes baby jesus cry.

Overdrive pedals. I played in an orchestra in "Jesus Christ, Superstar"" and made a borrowed cheap Teisco and cheap amp sound like it should in the concluding song. Just turn the amp up and belt away.
Hate those overdrives. I have a Boss and will only use it when asked and or required.

OK, I followed this thread unable to contribute because I couldnt think of any gear I really hate.

But then I saw the Fugazi video clip.

Yeah, I hate what they are doing with the gear..... And thats different than hating the gear. Confiscate and redistribute maybe?

But its like, just an opinion man.

Boss pedals, used them for YEARS but the fact that they're so ubiquitous and you hear that sound everywhere began to rub me the wrong way.

So for the last couple of years I began to shift towards Electro Harmonix, Mooer and Ibanez in order to find something more inspiring sounding than Boss.
