    A Jeff Beck Strat
    LP with P90s
    A tele - standard model
000 style acoustic, all solid woods - spruce top, mahogany b&s, rosewood FB
A thinline tele with dual humbuckers

The acoustic is top of my GAS list these days. Mostly thinking Blueridge or Eastman. But it will be a while. Money is tight.

    For me it would be...

    a Tele
    a Strat
    a Dano 12 String
    a Takamine Acoustic
    a decent Nylon String

...which is pretty close to what I'm using.

You almost got it right except for the 12 string should be replaced with a LP Jr. or something with some P90s, preferably a Collings 290.

Serendipity played a fairly large role in the 5 I own.

    1) Hamer Daytona - quality Strat clone

    2) SG 61 Reissue

    3) 1954 Gretsch Electromatic - single pickup, single cutaway

    4) Takamine - for that acoustic gig I've never booked

    5) cheap Ibanez - always on its stand ready for playing, no matter how little time is available

I really would like to have a Tele, though. The way logic works in my house I might have to dump the Ibanez and make the Tak my daily strummer.

    For me:

    Tele
    Strat
    ES 335
    LP Junior
    Martin 000-18 or similar

I'd like to include a Gretsch and a Les Paul too - can I have seven?

Five is not enough - but if I had to only keep five they would be:

    National Reso Tri-cone
    Strat
    ES-335
    Gretsch 5120 with Surf-90s
    Martin Acoustic

Really hurts to take my Tele's and my Ric 660/12 off the list!!!!!

oh, and since they are basses and don't count I would keep my '64 Bass VI and my P-Bass

My back started hurting just looking at that picture.

My list changes constantly but here is how I look at it now:
    ES-335 style (My Cort Source)
    Tele
    Good Classical
7 String (Currently an Epi Les Paul 7)

Can't think of another one. I could happily live with just my first two for about 99 percent of what I do. I used to think I had to have a hollow body archtop for jazz but my semi-hollo could be used for just about any style out there. I have had my share of strats and they are nice, but I don't find them necessary.

Hmmm. Not that I own all these, but if I had to pair it down to 5, and had the means to get all 5, I suppose it'd be.....

    - Tele
    - Strat
    - Les Paul
    - Ric XII
    - Martin 000

Toss in a Deluxe Reverb or Vibrolux, and a few select Boss pedals, and I think I could pretty much call it a day.

    For me...

    A tele
    A 335 style
A hollowbody archtop with decent acoustic tone
    A flattop
    A nylon string.

Damn...i have all of these. This will make future GAS attacks difficult to rationalize.

Wonder what the answers would be on 'other guitars' sites ? :(
FWIW - just 5 Teles would do me (and strings).
