Good luck to those who have dogs and those who need to get a good rest tonight
It’s a full on battle here, with each neighbor one upping the other, mortars everywhere
I forgot to mention that fireworks here are not exactly permitted, today is the loophole
My cat is AWOL!
my town always had fireworks but not this year...the town residents have picked it up for the town
One of the local towns is still doing public fireworks, except there’s no restrooms and you have to stay put in your car for a couple hours
Nothing here except on tv.
There's no public fireworks and we're close enough to places where you can get the "good ones". So we have what sound like battle outside.
Sunset is at 8:30 ish here. Set to give our crazy retriever a little “relaxer” around 7:30. After that the concern is the brown fields. Good luck to all.
I’m only a couple miles from the P.A boarder and right over that boarder in many spots there’s a fireworks store (Pennsylvania still has the “good” fireworks)
We used to have a neighbor that would travel down to South Carolina every year before the 4th
Not here. We got us a real frog-strangler goin’ outside.
It’s rainin’ like a tall cow peein’ on a flat rock. There’s thunder and lightnin’, too!
Me, the livestock, and the dogs are pretty pleased with the weather tonight.
All of the municipal shows in the area have been cancelled; that's fine - it seems everybody around here took a trip to Pennsylvania and came back with tons of mortars. Lovin' it!
This is awesome
That’s goin in the ol’ book
No fireworks here due to High Fire concerns. Just had a downpour. It stopped about an hr ago. Looks beautiful out. Street is still wet. High danger? Same thing happened last year.
I only heard one siren a couple hours ago.
That's better than most fireworks holidays for the last few years.
My 1yo German Shepherd gets defensive over them. I’ve locked him in the the bedroom with me. Playing some Mahavishnu Orchestra loud enough to much most of the booms and pops. He jumped into bed with me (which he never does) and is sound asleep.
They’ve actually started to settle down, it’s almost like a thunderstorm moving away, just a couple rumbles left in the distance
My last pup, Daisy, would be having just an awful time, stuck being tormented by the really loud fireworks. We made a special point of being someplace quiet, each 4th, during her lifetime but this year would have been a problem. Had she still been alive.
This new pup, Domino, is about 14 months old, and he's snuggled up on the couch with us, behaving much better than normal. He's coping and I'm grateful for that.
Now we just have to make it through tomorrow, hopefully no more predictable explosions for a while after that
Wow, I feel like an idiot for not thinking of that, and I listen to loud music all the time. My dog shakes and trembles uncontrollably from fireworks and gunfire. I'm going to blast the stereo when it starts getting bad here. They're already going off pretty regularly, but not real close yet. Thanks a bunch for posting that, it's going to help him out tremendously.
