After more than ten years as a member, this will be my first post. I just got my CS 1963 to go with the 1963 Princeton that I rebuilt about five years ago. They do sound fantastic together. I love the ‘63 pickups.

I do admit I am not a fan of relics. I wanted to have essentially this guitar built, with the exception of getting a closet classic with NOS hardware. Instead I bought this one which was in stock and is a journeyman relic. The first day I spent several hours polishing the fake aging from the hardware, and I am much happier with it now. Anyway, it’s the sound that matters, and it sounds phenomenal.

CS variations look nice, but what has happened to the neck pickup shell?......certainly looks as though it has been well worn.....or

[the attack of the angle grinder?....or some horrid parallax error in the photography?

Are the new CS shells brass? or a ferrous metal?.....difficult to see any metal color under the wear/worn section

That's a photo anomaly. There is no wear on the neck pickup. It's just shiny and new looking, no imperfections. The 'polishing' was just a plain cotton t-shirt. The fake aging I mentioned was really just the dirt/corrosion they applied to the tuner casings, bridge saddles, and neck strap buttons. That stuff came off nicely.

I didn't go searching for a 63 Reissue specifically, or even a Custom Shop. I wanted to upgrade my American Special Tele, and the shop had a Jimmy Page Mirror (non-CS) that had caught my eye. When I got there it didn't click with me, so I tried out some others and for some reason this one just felt right. I wasn't in love with the relic level, but it has really grown on me, and I think the worn down shoulder actually makes it more comfortable. I actually traded with a friend for a month or so for another CS (a '69 in firemist silver). It didn't feel the same and we switched back - super happy to have this one back. 2017 LPB Relic

After I got it home and inspected the floor traveler I actually found my birthday on it. Can anyone shed some light on the two different dates listed under "Requested Delivery Date"? I've seen two dates on all of the floor travelers I've looked at.

Nice! My 63 is my favorite Tele. Neck and action are near perfect. Enjoy!

Sparks (no pun intended) memories of Buck Owens' Bakersfield days and, more recently, The Derailers.

Guitarist Brian had one when I saw them live, he's played it throughout their career through the present incarnation of the band. Although, it should be noted, his headstock lacks the sparkle finish.
