. . . and they're remaking "Red Dawn." I loved that movie when it first came out, but I was, like, 13, and stuff.

They've been trying to release it for years. I'm not sure that it will ever actually make it. They've changed who the "enemy" is in the movie a few times, and changed the title a few times. I don't think it will make, because of political climate and the desire not to offend other countries.

No Americans cared about offending the old U.S.S.R. when the first one was released.

Saw the trailer for Red Dawn, looks like they made the Chinese the attackers, hard to tell they didn't stay on the uniforms too long, and I really wasn't paying attention at the start of the trailer. I'll pay closer attention next time I see it. When it got going, I knew right away it was "Red Dawn" sure enough when the trailer ended that's what it was.

Oh the expendables. I saw the first one, just plain old shoot 'em up, but fun. No plot to speak of, just kill everyone in sight, and try to look cool doing it. I expect more of the same, but who cares? I'll go see it, I can't be any more disappointed than I have in most of this summer's dogs. At least the Expendables aren't trying to say anything but bang, bang.

I dunno what the demographics are - my nephew is 15 and these are his favorite movies. ( before 2 is out yet!)
    Maybe it`s the FPS Russia generation . . .
BUt nothing that makes money in hollywood is safe from a sequel. Stallone said # 1 would be his last action movie, THEN he broke his back in a bad stunt - suddenly there was money raining, and he changed his mind.

Nothing wrong with an old fashioned over the top shoot 'em up.

And what is up with Stallone's face? He makes Kenny Rogers look normal.

Correct, and now they won't release it due to fear of offending the North Koreans.

I think the next version of it should be Americans invading America. Cause no one cares if we're offended.

They were expendable, but they weren't expended.

Stallone has developed a, um, curious face, but nothing on this planet makes the Gambler look normal!

    True story alert!

I was living in Ferndale Mi while they were filming Red Dawn around the area. Um, that's all i got.

    ^boring story alert!

Just replace the North Koreans with Canadians. We're far to polite to say anything about it.

When you start with zero expectations, its not hard to walk away satisfied. I liked the Expendables (first one); I watched it on Netflix. It's cool to see all (or a lot, anyway) of all the well known action heroes of the past few decades all together in one film, something the film-maker never could have afforded when they were in their prime. Now add Chuck Norris and Van Damme? As long as there is fighting (which there will undoubtedly be), I will be satisfied.

    But I'll wait for video.
