The Lordstown Endurance pickup truck has achieved homologation with 500 units built so it might make it. That would be tremendous for the local area and for the sake of competition.
The most interesting bit in all this to me is the Foxconn investment/rescue. It is a new type of manufacturing for them, and adds to the ideas some have where they could or might manufacture an Apple or some other sort of vehicle. IMO, Tesla and Rivian against traditional auto makers have been illustrating the importance of the manufacturing prowess.
