You might remember that some time ago I routed the neck pocket on a couple (okay, it was THREE!) bodies a bit deep.

I want to paint one of them up with Mohawk Champagne Frost.

I took some scrap ash and routed it to the shape of the heel of a neck

(I have to apologize for the poor quality of the photo.)

cut off a slice a bit thicker than needed

and glue it in place...Titebond I. Good stuff that won't slip.

I'll be able to throw a template back on there and route out a new neck pocket. Only 5/8" deep this time.

The grain even sort of matches.

When I spray on the toner, it will make it all look good.

Yeah, the way you matched that grain, the patch(es) will be virtually invisible.

P.S. I just wanted to be a part of the gimontrous thread.

    You're welcome.

Remember, it is more about the journey than the destination.

Spent the afternoon in the Sparkle Barn.

While no sparkles flew, some base coat and saw dust did.

    Plenty of photos were taken.

Now I just need to get that new box hooked up.

If you know what I mean.

    ;)

    Still having DNS issues.

    Can you believe that?!

It is almost like I am learning as I am going... ;)

and to top it off, my 4X flip down magnifiers went Tango Union last night...so I have to order a new set or two of those up.

Neat things are happening in the Sparklebarn.

You will learn all about it someday...soon I hope!

    :)
