One final little adjustment and we can take off that sliver...

as always, paying attention to the direction the cutter is going

although I managed to cut out the outside of the body before that bearing collet came loose...

didn't quite make the control cavity!

But I guess that is what this stuff is for.

The "problem area" is small...and will be hidden under the control plate, and layers of flake and clear...but it would still be nice if it wasn't there...

There are those bodies with no binding again!

Bodies with no binding? Perhaps a liason with some paisley paper?

But in the meantime, I made a few changes to the pattern for the sound hole for the Mk II.

    The changes aren't really visible

here is the Mk I after the CA is GOOD and DRY

tonight it doesn't look as bad as I remembered it...

I think it will be worth the effort to finish it out and see what it will look like

Turns out the actor, Meinhardt Raabe, was born over near Madison WI. Not too far from here really. He passed away last spring. Certainly one of my most memorable characters from tWoO.

We can knock off some of the rough corners with a homemade sanding stick...

then screw that bad boy back down

then start putting the outside binding on...which will really be the inside binding on the guitar

working from both corners around to the other corner

Let me tell you, that is the best MS/HS Earth Science book around.

I've used at least 4 different editions of it.

    Good eye!

Absolutely! I still remember most of that stuff... it was a wonderful book and I was lucky enough to have an absolutely FANTASTIC teacher who is now a great friend.

Finished putting the inside binding on last night, but had a few gaps that needed filling.

Soaked some binding in acetone and stuffed it in where it needed to be.

now need to figure out how to get it off the form...

and see what happens to its shape when I do.

    :)
