Well kids, the parts are mostly collected...the body is cut out and (mostly) grainfilled and sealed. I have a fine Allparts necks. Checkerboards from Brian England. Binding from StewMac. Somewhere I have a box full of hardware. Plus, and this might be the most important, out in the garage I have a quart can of DEFT and a box full of PREVAL sprayers ... and that all important respirator.

and I think I'm ready to start the nitty gritty soon.

Do you want to wait and see the finished product in a few months...

Or would you rather see just about every painful proceedure and mistake?

    :D

By the way, I have to admit that I am no Ed Hawley. I bought some of these parts ready made. ;)

It is my favorite color! Gotta be rosewood neck though!

This will be the best! If there's a name for that finish,
I'm pretty sure it's Zircon Encrusted Christmas Tree Green.
You'll need a Jimmy Martin outfit with that one!

    Color Suggestion

May I make a suggestion to match Mazda's Emerald Green used on the 2001 Miata? Not that I'm biased or anything.

Don't know if that last part of your "dream" will come true.

Your comment about the rosewood fingerboard all of a sudden reminded my of the Lizardcaster.

About '75 my buddy (who was playing banjo in a band with me) got his hands on an ANCIENT rosewood board strat. Somebody had already painted it green metalflake. Horrible job. Rough as all get out.

Figuring that it was already gone (hey! that would be a good title for a song!) we decided to go all the way...I cut out and inlayed little lizards where the dots used to be.
