I was in my music room perfecting a Loverboy tune last night. How did this get voted in??!??!?

I felt so cheap and dirty.

Could be worse, I've had their "Lovin' Every Minute Of It" stuck in my head the last few days

Say three Eddie Moneys, and four Tony Basils, and you will be absolved.

I shouldn't complain. Playing at the Hartford Mineshaft tomorrow. They stamp your hand when you're loading in and you get free drinks all night with the hand stamp. They have several IPA's on draft.

The Eddie Money commercial made me sad. Poor guy.

Yeah it's like Eddie is trying to be Gary Busey or something

I have found I just don't care for IPAs

    I like IPAs.

My band is a little strange. Some gigs we can play originals. Others, bar gigs, we play covers, and throw one of our own in there now and then.

That said, I have said on numerous occasions that I never, ever want to play Brown-Eyed Girl again. But every time we play it, it connects with people. So what do I know?

Oh my God, that's another one...But you're right, it always gets people out of their seats. And making that connection counts for a lot.

I just remind myself that I'm not there to amuse myself. I'm there to amuse other people, and sell beer.

I saw Loverboy at the County fair years ago. They put on a good show. This was a couple years before the Bass player drowned. The singer remarked how he still fits into 34 by 36 jeans but---------------------- now they are 36W by 34L.

I remember seeing an interview years ago with Mike Reno from Loverboy. He was explaining how the song "The Kid Is Hot Tonight (But Where Will He Be Tomorrow)" was written about The Cars and how they were a big thing once but had faded away. Yeah right Mikey, I don't see Loverboy getting into the R and R HOF anytime soon....

I play guitar with a buddy occasionally when he wants to gig, so he has a band when the rest of us have a free schedule on a given night. He does have some originals, but we do a number of covers and some of them I don't necessarily like at all. However, they do cause me to figure out the parts which is always a good thing since it forces me to analyze the music. You get to pick up little things like that odd dissonance in Tears for Fears' Mad World. I am not a fan of that era of pop music at all, but I still enjoy the challenge of figuring out the parts.
